AhlulBayt News Agency: An Iranian organization has reported that nine journalists were martyred during the recent 12-day war launched by the Zionist regime.
Morteza Kar Amouzian, head of the Basij Media Organization, stated in an interview in Tehran on Saturday that these journalists were killed in direct and targeted attacks by Israeli forces.
He added that more than ten other journalists were injured during the conflict and are currently undergoing medical treatment.
Kar Amouzian emphasized that, under Article 8, Paragraph 2 of the ICC Statute, targeting journalists constitutes a war crime. He also cited the 1949 Geneva Convention (IV) and Article 52 of Additional Protocol I, which mandate the protection of civilians and media personnel.
He stressed that this anti-media crime must not be ignored by the global press. The Basij Media Organization, in coordination with relevant institutions, will pursue legal and international action to hold the perpetrators accountable.
